We are planning a 10-night trip to Bhutan in late October/early November of 2007, and are researching tour options. I have been impressed with material I%26#39;ve seen from the Uma Paro Hotel (part of COMO chain), and wonder if anyone out there has had any direct experience with the hotel, their organized day trips and/or their longer itineraries.
Specifically, this tour would coincide with Bumthang festival in late October. Anyone been there?
I recently returned from a COMO property in the Turks and Caicos, ';Parrot Cay,'; and feel good about how these people handle things.
Uma Paro Hotel - 10 day tour
Hi ExpertTripPlanner,
I%26#39;ve been twice in Bhutan, not in the Uma Paro, but all our hotels were very good, big rooms and equipped bathrooms,I don%26#39;t think one needs more. We were very happy with our guide and tourorganiser, and I%26#39;m sure he can organise anything you%26#39;ll ask, also the Uma Paro (but at extra cost, as it is not in the gouvernment-run plan). Last year we attended the Bumthang festival, I liked it very much, but I must say that others in our group were less enthousiastic. This year we had a performance from a local sing and dance group, which was very well received by our group. I%26#39;d advise you to contact our guide directly and give him all your wishes: sonam.dorjee@nirvanaexpeditions.com
Enjoy Bhutan, it is incredible!
