Bhutan

When is the best time of year to visit Bhutan and is it expensive to take a tour?

Bhutan

Most people think that End September till November is best, with beautiful colours of fall, others find spring with flowers better. Also other seasons have their specials, winter with snow and summer with monsoon.

Price is fixed per night halt and depends on the number of persons in your group and duration of stay. As all tours are pre-organised by a local tour operator, you can make your own itinary according to your wishes and money. Basicly it is 200$ per night per person for 3 persons or more.If you see that this includes all except personal costs, it is not so expensive, I think.

When do you think to go and for how long? What are your interests, trekking, day walks, festival?

Start to read about Bhutan, there are a lot of articles here on TA, and find what you want, then ask a few operators for their suggestions and price.

Bhutan

Hey,

Thanks for the info.

I dont have any plan as such.

I am in Vietnam at the mo and will be here another month or so then kinda plan to head for Lao, Bhutan and Tibet.

Well I like hiking, but left my boots at home!

Think it will be some time May or June when I would get as far as Bhutan.

What will the weather be like then?

Well, it can be rainy in Bhutan all year around, that%26#39;s why it is so green, but the monsoon starts in June, so a bit more rainy. Still less tourists, so more places left for you.

To Bhutan it is hard to travel spontaneously, you have to plan an itinary and the flight into Bhutan has to be reserved by your tour operator.

So, as soon as you know when and how long, start to connect with one. You can do this all by mail, except the money, which has to be sent by bank, but of course possible from anywhere in the world.

Enjoy your trip.
