Are we too late to have any chance of flights in mid October

Back at Christmas I booked some airmiles flights to Delhi for mid October without much of a plan about what I%26#39;d do when we get there (but India%26#39;s fantastic, I won%26#39;t have a trouble to fill the time).

Then I read about the per diem fees for Bhutan going up next year and wondered if I could get a trip done during my october trip. However, when I look at online advice, people seem to be suggesting I don%26#39;t have a hope in hell if flights aren%26#39;t booked 4-5 months beforehand.

Can anyone advise? We arrive in Delhi on the 18th and leave on the 1st of November and would love to get a week in Bhutan sometime during that period. Should I give up now and work out alternatives or is it still worth a go?

If it is, who/how/what are the ins and outs of gettind Druk flights? I%26#39;ve looked at their website and it just comes up blanks.

Any advice would be great

Just contact a local bhutanese tour operator and have them check availability for you. I%26#39;ll suggest Blue Poppy as we were very happy with them, but there are dozens of others - read a few threads and you%26#39;ll find several recommendations.

To stress the first reply: you cannot organise tours to Bhutan yourself, you have to use a local agent. As time is short, contact a few a the same time and see the reply, it might be that they have time to take you.As this is festival-time as well, you can hope for extra flights, so keep trying. As written lots of times before, I%26#39;ve done three tours with Sonam of Nirvanaexpeditions, and can recommand him for sure.

Hope you%26#39;ll succeed in getting to Bhutan.

We got in touch with bluepoppy who tracked down a flight for us that%26#39;s perfect. But they can only get us in, not out. So we%26#39;ll be dropped over the border by land and then go to Darjeeling and Kalimpong for a few days before flying back to Delhi from Bagdogra.

I know this is the Bhutan forum, but if anyone has any tips on Darleeling/Kalimpong or can point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Thanks

no problem it is not late for you to book your bhutan tour. you find an agent from GOOGLE.COM by typing Bhutan Tour or Trekking Bhutan, where you will find numbers of Local Bhutanese Travel agent who can give you the exact information.

cheers
