Looks like it is temporary due to fuel prices, and loads during the off-season:

But.. I don%26#39;t like the mention of the possible rise in fares. (Though in today%26#39;s economy, this was inevitable).

They%26#39;re supposed to return to their regular schedule in autumn. As long as they can get everyone who wants to come to Bhutan on a flight, it is fine.
About the prices, the dollar lost a lot of its value, so maybe it is just a small correction. The price to Paro is already relatively high, so they cannot exaggerate.
I have the feeling that you too are planning another trip, right?
Druk cuts flights
We are thinking seriously about it - the first trip left us with the feeling we wanted to see more.
Finally agreed that it cannot be this year for various reasons, but next March/April is a possibility.
OZ:
Thanks for the update. Fortunately, I%26#39;m all booked for my October flights and it appears that they won%26#39;t change them. However, I had a slight bump in the road as Thai Airways is cancelling their JFK - BKK non stop as of July 1. We were flying in premium economy and the options they offered were not satisfactory. We decided to take the refund and booked via EVA Air out of Newark in their premium economy. The fare was about $100 less. We leave about 12 hours earlier but do arrive in Bangkok around noon rather than five in the afternoon. Too bad, we took the non stop in 2006 and really liked it. Such are the travel adventures these days.
We also go to Bhutan in October - 5th to Delhi and back 22nd (Guwahati India - Delhi)and so far have not heard about any problems with our flights.
