Trekking in October

We are considering a trip to Bhutan next October, and would like to do a trek, perhaps Laya or Chomolhari. Would love to hear from anyone who might have done either of these treks. Another thought would be to do two shorter treks (like Druk and Dagala?) for the opportunity of seeing a bit more of the country.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

Trekking in October

Hello,

First I think you%26#39;d have to know how long you can stay in Bhutan. With one short 3-day trek and sightseeing, two weeks is a minimum, unless you shorten the parts you want to see.

We did once the Bumthang trek, and last time the Gangtey trek, both are 3 days and very beautiful. Just saw in the Kuensel that two short treks are added with lodging in local houses, not camping, which sounds very nice to me. As Bhutanese are very good in reception of guests, this might add some extra insight in the country.

Jumolhari is a 8-9 day trek and leaves little time for exploration, unless you plan for three weeks.
