This list is long, and it is difficult to know the good ones. I suggest that our forum-users who have been to Bhutan and were happy with their tour operator and guide, advise us here. I advise Nirvanaexpeditions, traveled with them three times.

By the way, the tourism.go.bt-site is still not funcioning. Keep looking, as it gave in the past valuable information with details on treks, etc.

I mean to hear recommendations from people who have been to Bhutan, not from tour operators who want to advertise themselves.

I am not a tour operator, but simply IT Person. But sorry if I was in wrong place.

So why are you promoting this agency? What%26#39;s your interest? Personally we used Blue Poppy and they were great.

Do NOT use Bhutan Norphel Tours %26amp; Treks as your tour operator in Bhutan. Their service is entirely unsatisfactory. They have hidden charges, charge above the government rate without justification, show a general lack of transparency and documentation, and communicate their services and intentions poorly. Very unprofessional.

Travel to Bhutan is a daunting task as one has to choose from over 235 ';approved'; agents. Payment is through the government but there is no guarantee of the quality or implementation of service. In fact, the Tourist Council of Bhutan has no legal authority to insure ';approved'; agents deliver services that meet any standard of quality. Be very careful when booking an agent in Bhutan. Only book with an agent that%26#39;s been directly recommended by a reputable source. Do NOT rely solely on the ';approved'; government list. Be warned 鈥?when traveling to Bhutan you must pre-pay your entire trip and if you are not happy you will forfeit everything regardless.

I have traveled a year ago to beautiful Bhutan and we used Xplore Bhutan. Karma Tshering was our fantastic guide who I can recommend highly. Hari was our perfect driver.

Karma made it very special for all of us, ordering special Bhutanese dishes, having a little ceremony for my friends on their wedding anniversary even finding some beer on our last day of trecking. :-) Very thoughtful, knowledgable, kind, funny...perect!

The company is involved with a lot of first rafting and kayaking descents on the beautiful Bhutan rivers.

I think Ugyen ? owns the company.
